If you’re planning on visiting Cwmcarn Forest, the Visitor Centre is a fantastic facility to use to plan your trip. It offers maps and plenty of information on the surrounding area so you can be in the know before you set out. This is all found at the Information Station in the main reception area and you can even find out the latest weather forecasts.

For those little souvenirs, the Gift Shop is fully stocked with gifts and mementos. Much of the produce is locally made and showcases the top quality of Welsh craftsmanship.

The plethora of activities available at Cwmcarn mean that you’re bound to get hungry at some stage. Raven’s Café is the ideal place to stop for a snack or hot food. The large interior has a friendly atmosphere, or you can choose to sit outside and admire the views of the Nantcarn River. Locally sourced produce is used wherever possible and food is usually served between 9:30am and 4pm.

If you’ve got children under the age of 7 with a little too much energy then the Toddler’s Play Area will prove to be great fun for them. You can eat your food on the timber decking and keep an eye on them at the same time.

The Education Room and Conference Facilities at Cwmcarn are unique in their woodland location and sheer size – boasting over 100 square metres of space. Many of the centre’s events (from craft fairs to story-telling) are held in these facilities. The aim is to provide educational facilities for schools and groups and a space for businesses to use for presentations and such.

The Centre is compliant with DDA guidelines and has wheelchair accessible seating on the rear decking. And for all you mountain bikers and hikers out there, you’ll be pleased to know that there are also showers!
