Sheffield Park Garden is made up of informal landscaped gardens covering some 120 acres designed by renowned landscape architect, Capability Brown. Enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon meandering among the chain of five lakes. You can admire the pictorial waterfalls that cascade 25 ft between the different levels. The lakes are clay-lined to produce an inimitable mirror-like surface that reflects the surrounding trees and wildlife.

With over 20 acres of the park covered in water it is easy to find a quiet place to sit back and reflect on nature’s wonders. Feed the geese and duck family and listen to the soothing sounds of the birds singing in the surrounding trees. Wander through the east park to witness the riot of colourful wildflowers that marks the Site of Special Scientific Interest. See if you find the soldier’s grave on your tour.

Don’t miss a trip to the arboretum which houses a marvellous collection of exotic trees and shrubs. If you prefer extensive open spaces, head to the south park where you can follow one of the many trails or make your own. Sheffield Park is also home to the National Collection of Ghent Azaleas!

If you’re a cricket fan, enjoy a cricket match on Sheffield’s historic pitch, which hosted the first ever match between Australia and England! If you’ve worked up an appetite, the Coach House offers lunch and high tea for you to enjoy.
