Lanhydrock is a unique estate that is a wonderful exhibition of a family home in Victorian times. There are 50 rooms for you to explore, so make sure you plan a full day out! The decadent main rooms and the servants’ bedrooms that give a true insight into the class divides that permeated England in the 1800s. See the world of the kitchen staff and see if you make the cut! Try napkin folding, hat brushing, or laying a place setting in the proper manner. Costumed volunteers will guide you through the extensive house, from children’s nurseries to stylish bedrooms. You can truly step back in time at Lanhydrock!

One of Lanhydrock’s main features is its nearly 1,000 acres of parkland that make up the grounds of the estate. You can explore the manicured gardens of rare shrubs and trees that feature over 120 species of award-winning magnolias. Venture farther afield to discover riverside paths and wild blossoms. There is an all-encompassing network of footpaths that wind through the countryside and with more than 900 acres; you can have a quiet stroll to truly appreciate the stunning beauty of Lanhydrock’s gardens. If you’re the adventurous type, try mountain biking or archery! When you’ve worked up an appetite, have a leisurely picnic while kids explore the adventure playground. There is something here to truly please everyone!
