The Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery has something for everyone! One of the best museums in England, as demonstrated by its designated museum status, the Bristol Museum has a wealth of attractions for kids and adults alike. With 19 galleries on three floors, visitors can investigate everything from dinosaurs to the great works of Renoir and Hepworth. Featuring exhibits on art, archaeology, geology and natural history, guests will have a wealth of things to see and do. Kids will enjoy the family-oriented activity centres and the hands-on activity days. Young visitors can explore the crystal cave, put on a puppet show, make a pot, and create their own dinosaurs!

When you walk up to the Bristol City Museum, it is readily apparent that you are about to explore something extraordinary. The building the museum is housed in is a testament to Edwardian Baroque architecture. Enter through the grand pillars and start your journey on the ground floor with the wonders of ancient Egypt and Assyria. Dust off your archaeology in the Curiosity Gallery. Journey back a billion years in the geology galleries and explore dinosaurs and minerals, wildlife and incredible fossils! Watch Bristol develop through the ages on the first floor balcony. Climb to the top floor of the museum to marvel at the art galleries. Not only can you see some of the world’s great artists, but there are several galleries devoted to local artists in the Bristol School of Artists gallery!
