Based in Edinburgh, this majestic palace is the royal home to Queen Elizabeth II every year for the first week of summer and is visited frequently by various members of the royal family throughout the year. The surrounding landscapes boast spectacular views of Scotland including Holyroodhouse Park’s famous Arthur’s Seat, as well as the vast gardens belonging to the palace itself.

Holyroodhouse Palace is teeming with history that’s just waiting to be discovered! The palace is the location of the turbulent reign of Mary Queen of Scots and the setting of her wedding where she married Lord Darnley. It is also where the Queen Mary’s private secretary was murdered in March 1566.
