Our Dynamic Earth explores the wonders of our planet from its very beginnings.  Discover our Earth’s awe-inspiring features from erupting volcanoes to ice bergs to the Aurora Borealis.

Located in Edinburgh, Our Dynamic Earth is surrounded by the hilltops and mountain peaks of the landscape typical to Scotland and was established as a continuation of the geological exploration of James Hutton, who is regarded as the founder of modern geology.

There are a huge number of things to see and do at Our Dynamic Earth with more than enough activities to fill an entire day out with the family! You will be taken on a journey that explores every corner of the earth going back in time and forward to our inevitable future.

Attractions include a number of visual displays, such as the Time Machine and the Spaceship where you can witness the birth of our solar system. You will have the chance to view our icy landscapes with a real life ice-berg and be enchanted by the Aurora Borealis. Go on a 4D adventure that will take you through the varied landscapes of our earth from rainforests to ice-caps with all the sights, sounds and smells to immerse your senses and mentally transport you to the earth’s most amazing places.

And if the adults are worn out viewing and interacting with so many attractions you can relax in the café with a hot drink and a bite to eat while the kids enjoy the Ocean Commotion Play Area.
