The Lake District Coast Aquarium, winner of the Cumbria Small Visitor Attraction of the Year Award in 2010, is the place to see the vast range of marine life that exists in the Irish Sea. Focusing on fish and invertebrates, the Coast Aquarium features 50 themed and informative live displays. It reveals weird and wonderful creatures from the common to the very unusual!

Stop by the Raypool, a favourite among visitors, where you can get up close to the rays and gently stroke their backs while they glide through the water. The hands-on experience extends to the Rockpool display, where you can touch some of the cascading rock pool’s colourful inhabitants. Wander through the eerie shipwreck and look out for the conger eels lurking in their lairs!

Have you ever thought about what cod looks like when it’s not with a portion of chips? Come and see the amazingly large cod in the Deep Reef display, and learn all about how they like it cold, unlike your dinner!

As well as live displays, The Lake District Coast Aquarium also has attractions such as an adventure playground, power boat racing, crazy golf and an exhibition centre where you can learn all about life underwater.
