Formerly home to Edwardian It Girl, Mrs Ronald Greville, this house and estate showcases what it took to impress the leading politicians and foreign statesmen of the day. Greville’s collection of impressive paintings, furniture, and silver are showcased the same way they would have been during her legendary parties.

Hear stories and see photos of everyone from the King and Queen to the Maharaja to President Woodrow Wilson. As you wander through the estate, you can wonder at what secrets and scandals Polesden Lacey held! You can explore the receptions rooms and galleries, whose decadent decorations transport you back in time. Families can even dress up in period clothes!

As you look out the many windows in the estate, admire the classic Surrey countryside views, complete with rolling hills and dense woodlands. Take time to explore the extensive grounds, which feature walled rose gardens and landscaped walks that wind their way through the 1,400 acre lands. You can discover hidden shelters, wild orchids, and even some barnyard animals!

Borrow free binoculars from the house to discover an array of butterflies, house martins, and swallows. Children can discover Squirrel’s Corner, an adventure play park made just for kids!

Polesden Lacey also has open-air performing areas and extensive lawns for you to sit back and enjoy the many musical and theatrical events that are put on throughout the summer. A highlight is Polesden Lacey’s summer jazz festivals. Bring a picnic and relax on the expansive lawns during a warm summer’s night while listening to great music!
