This 200 acre informal woodland garden is unmatched; it was even named Hudson Heritage’s UK “Best Garden” in 2011! The garden was created by Lionel de Rothschild, an avid gardener who successfully created many new hybrid species, many of which can still be seen today! You can explore on foot, by buggy, or even travel through the gardens on a steam train. The train travels along the Summer Lane garden and across the pond. You can see unparalleled views of the American gardens and more!

With its world-famous collections of rhododendrons, azaleas, and camellias, there is so much to see at Exbury. Stroll through the Camellia Walk, which takes visitors along the Beaulieu River. Admire the garden and the boats that float peacefully along the winding waterway. More highlights include the Hydrangea Walk and the Rock Garden. If you’re looking to journey outside of England, you can see rare and exotic plants in the Sundial Garden.

Exbury is dog-friendly, so you and Fido can discover the 26 miles of walking trails together! See if you can spot the peacock that wanders the grounds. As you explore, marvel at the mirror-like surfaces of the lakes that reflect the surrounding beauty. Filled with extraordinary trees, shrubs, and flowers, Exbury Gardens is an experience that is truly beyond compare. If you’ve worked up an appetite, you can enjoy nature with a picnic or have a hot meal at one of the two restaurants on site.
