Located on the Isle of Wight, which is part of the UESCO Jurassic World Heritage Site, this interactive museum is a must for any dinosaur enthusiast! See if you can figure out which dinosaur was the model for the museum’s design! Full of nearly 30,000 geological specimens, there are more than 1,000 fossils on display, as well as life-sized models of what dinosaurs would have looked like.

Enter through the introductory gallery to brush up on your fossil knowledge. Examine the dinosaur skeletal reconstructions and fossils. A special pleasure is the two animatronic dinosaurs which you can control! There are interactive displays throughout the museum to keep kids (and adults!) of all ages engaged. Kids of all ages will be delighted with the hands-on exhibits that feature microscopes and fossil hunts. Dig in sand for dinosaur remains, or make rubbing imprints of your favourite dinosaurs! You can even dress up as a dinosaur and practice your best dinosaur rawr.

See the working laboratory and speak to expert palaeontologists and watch them work! There are many members of staff with a wealth of local knowledge and a passion for the island to add a truly personal touch to these fantastic creatures. Step back in time into a recreated dinosaur landscape that is made real by sight, sound, and even smell!

If you’re feeling adventurous, pre-book a fossil hunt. A guide will take you out on the Isle of Wight to see if you can discover your very own fossils and become a palaeontologist!
