A new Sealife Centre is opening at Chessington World Of Adventures & Zoo in March 2008, with over 20 marine-life displays containing species ranging from shrimps and starfish to sharks and stingrays. The 250,000 litre aquarium, located within Chessington Zoo in time for the Easter school holidays, allows kids of all ages to go nose to nose with a wide range of sea creatures, while interactive ‘touchpools', exhibitions and a walkthrough ocean tank offer a wow factor to this perfect family day, out as fish swim overhead. Not something you get with a ticket to most zoos!
Sealife Scarborough is giving over £100,000 to refit its seal hospital and create a Seal Rescue Centre and a Seal Rescue Academy. The upgrade improves the current seal pool that holds the four resident seals, Bruno, Bubbles, Mando and Ed. The Seal Rescue Centre opens in time for the Easter 2008 Bank Holiday weekend.
