Pulteney Distillery has been creating its single malt scotch whiskey in the very far north of Scotland since 1826. Located in a unique location next to Wick’s historic harbour, the single malt matures in specially selected oak caskets, capturing the quintessential essence of the dramatic landscape and its maritime history. Nicknamed the Genuine Maritime Malt, it’s not hard to get why when you visit Old Pulteney Distillery.

The Old Pulteney Distillery is the most northerly on the mainland, using only traditional methods to make their malt whiskey, which they have been producing for almost two centuries.

Take a tour around the site and you will see firsthand the care and craftsmanship that goes into creating the signature single malt scotch. Enjoy a complimentary dram and find out for yourself what makes the award-winning whiskey so palatable.

Learn about the fascinating history of Old Pulteney in the distillery’s visitor centre, from the distillery’s early dependence on the shipping industry to the unusually shaped wash which provided a direct inspiration for the bottle.

At the end of your day in Wick don’t leave without picking out your own hand-filled bottle of Old Pulteney from the distillery’s cask selection, as well as other products and souvenirs available from the shop.
