Step back into Scottish history at the Historylinks Museum and explore the intriguing exhibits left behind by those long gone.

Located in Dornoch in the Scottish Highlands, the Historylinks Museum is based on the history of the local parish church and its communities of the past. Historylinks won the the Visit Scotland Award in 2009 with an amazing 5 stars, based on its ability to engage both young and old visitors alike with its range of fascinating exhibits and interesting artefacts.

There is plenty for the more mature students of life to see at this museum. If you’re interested in the specifics of the region’s history, the catalogues and albums will guide you along. You can also read of the diary of a man at war, Captain Rose, or learn about the Dornoch Light Railway.

For the kids, there is the children’s room where they will come face-to-face with life-size models depicting ancient characters. They can even  play dress-up in a selection of period costumes!

Historylinks Museum is a fantastic day out for both adults and kids. It’s an fun day out with a chance to relax as you move from one exhibit to the next absorbing all there is to learn about the history of Dornoch.
