Visit Ballindalloch Castle, the pearl of the north! It is only castle in Scotland that is still in the possession of the family of its original owners. Located on Ballindalloch Estate, just a short drive from the Cairngorms National Park, the castle is set in the most idyllic of locations. It is surrounded by miles of countryside and spectacular hilltops, with plenty of fresh air to go around.

The Ballindalloch Castle is a slice of living history. A private residence, the descendants of the original owners still reside within the castle. The Macpherson-Grant family have opened up their home and surrounding garden grounds for the enjoyment of the public. Visitors will be taken on a guided tour through the castle and admire the numerous artefacts and painting that have been collected by the family since the 15th century.

The gardens are perfectly kept and provide a refreshing break from the smells and the noise of ordinary city life. They look simply amazing during the summer months when all of the flowers are in full bloom. The castle resides very close to both the River Spey and the River Avon, which provide yet more natural beauty to a place already bursting with spectacular views.

The pride of Ballindalloch Castle is that of the produce of their farm. They are the oldest farmers of the world famous Aberdeen Angus. It has been in production since the 1800’s! The grounds are not only for the majestic Aberdeen Angus, but miles of it have been set aside for outdoor sports, such as shooting, as well as an extensive golf course. For those with a love of fishing, there are plenty of fishing hot spots too!
