'A full and inspirational day out'
Renishaw has a beautiful 300 acre park and eight acres of the most important Italianate gardens in England.
Enjoy the sound of water as a soft background to our beautiful views, statues and borders. Visit our Laburnum tunnel, National Yukka Collection and in April and May our bluebells are quite magnificent.
There is also a Children's Adventure Garden with a maze, a storytelling tree, a living willow tunnel to climb through, and silhouettes from children`s stories - pick up a leaflet from the ticket kiosk and see who you can spot. There is also an Art and Literature Trail, linked to the many famous visitors to Renishaw, and a Tree Trail which requires you to identify many trees, some ancient, that grow in the park.
The Performing Arts Gallery, and The Sitwell Museum in the converted Georgian stableblock provide a fascinating collection of artefacts from many musicals and dramatic productions and memorabilia from generations of the famous literary Sitwell family. A changing selection of John Piper works is shown each year in the John Piper Gallery and Renishaw is delighted to be collaborating with the Messum Gallery in London's Cork Street for 2008 in bringing a fresh selection of work from the Piper family as well as interesting views of the area.
The hall, home to the Sitwell family is open by appointment only. Book a tour with our friendly and informative tour guides to see the house full of treasures large and small collected over many centuries.
