Home to an impressive collection of wildlife from all over the planet, past and present, Blackpool is perfect for a day out! The zoo first opened its doors in 1972 and has been increasing its collection of animals ever since. Newest members to the zoo include giraffe, as well as 20 African penguins.

Located in the much loved seaside town of Blackpool, and a stone’s throw from Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Zoo dwells in a city home to a great selection of entertainment.

Residing on 32 acres of land, Blackpool Zoo houses more than 1,500 animals. It runs continuous conservation projects to help endangered wildlife, particularly marine mammals, and has raised thousands of pounds towards their project.

There is just so much to see and learn at Blackpool Zoo! With the usual collection of mammals and reptiles, from elephants and crocodiles to tarantulas and beetles, you’ll find every feathered and furry friend at Blackpool! Don’t forget about the nursery full of Blackpool Zoo’s newest family members for tiny versions of your favourite friends!

The zoo is not just a place to come and view animals at play, it is also a place where you can interact with the animals at special attractions, such as ‘Keeper for the Day’ and ‘Zookeeper Academy.’ You even get the chance to hand-feed Zambur, the zoo’s Amur Tiger!

At Blackpool Zoo you can view animals from a safe distance or get up close and enjoy the experience of a lifetime. You’ll have the chance to learn about the animals and enjoy a stroll down Blackpool pier for a day out you’ll never forget.
