Hidcote Manor Garden is widely acknowledged to be one of the most inventive gardens in England, if not the world! Affectionately named England’s “arts and crafts garden,” Hidcote garden is made up of outdoor “rooms” in a wide selection of themes. The rooms are made of box hedges, hornbeams, yew, and stone walls to create linked garden rooms for you to explore. Furnished with topiaries, the rooms feature a variety of vistas, ponds, fountains, and more. It is up to you to explore them all and decide which one is your favourite!

There is so much to do on a day at Hidcote, you can’t fail to be inspired. Stroll along one of the many garden paths to be delighted by the remarkable gardens, orchards, and bathing pools. Let your nose guide you to the intriguing scents in the planthouse, where delicate plants grow under the tender care of Hidcote’s gardeners. Giggle at the pig’s antics or start a game of croquet on the Theatre Lawn. Kids will love the garden activity books that keep them entertained throughout the visit!

After you’ve finished exploring the gardens for the day, wander up to the 17th century manor house. Stop by the kitchen garden to take home produce grown from Hidcote’s gardens. Or, bring your own lunch and share a picnic on the grounds. If you share creator Lawrence Johnston’s passion for plants, Hidcote won’t leave you disappointed! With so much to see and discover, Hidcote is perfect for a family day out or creative date night!
